Former Arizona Highways Publisher, Win Holden, will share the inside story of how this extraordinary publication has not only survived but thrived by attracting elite landscape photographers and using an unconventional publishing business model incorporating licensing, retailing and ancillary products. The presentation features dozens of historical and contemporary photographs telling the compelling story of a magazine that delivers over $65 million in annual economic impact to the state by captivating subscribers in all 50 states and 100 countries. Monday, November 17 Time: Main program: 11am - 1pm Additional program throughout the day/week Please join us for our 3rd annual "Walk the Land" Native American Heritage Celebration at Central Arizona College. This year's program will feature multiple opportunities to learn and engage with local tribal histories, cultural traditions, and performing arts. In addition to our tradition of "walking the land" of the CAC Signal Peak Campus and learning about local tribal communities and histories, we will also have a variety of the following: Learning about local plants and animals Traditional storytelling Hoop dancing Indian Voting Rights act Red Shawl Day Horsehair basket weaving and traditional jewelry making Pottery making Lastly, we will be showcasing our new CAC Land Acknowledgment Plaques to honor and recognize the history and communities that are a rich part of our institutional heritage.
